Reviewed: I tried a weighted blanket for anxiety and sleep

What happened in the whole process?

Whenever I try something new, I always try to keep the rest of my routine pretty much the same. If I start changing too many things at once, it’s hard to tell what works and what doesn’t. To keep things under control as much as possible, I diligently wear blue light glasses in the evening (I like to watch TV for an hour while having dinner around 7pm, so blocking that blue light is very important). important!), and then, I keep the lights low, read about an hour before bed, take a bedtime supplement (Solluna by Kimberly Snyder’s) Feel Good Detoxy 2.0, $30 and a “sleep aid” pill I found at my local Whole Foods store) and turn off the lights between 10:00 or 10:30. me too love and cherish Calm application. I find its sleep stories more effective than relaxing music or white noise at lulling me to sleep.

Is there any challenge?

Not necessarily! I run very hot at night, so one reason I avoided heavy blankets before was because I was afraid I would overheat and wake up in a sweat. But since the blanket I got from Bearaby was specifically designed for cooling, I had no problems.

Are there any surprises?

Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised after my first night. I’ve read that it can take a few weeks to really notice a difference when sleeping under a heavy blanket, (the brand says it can take up to 10 days to fully adjust), but I slept well. like a rock on the first night. In fact, I woke up in the exact same position I slept in, and I wasn’t sure if I was moving or not!
