Review of the AF Viltrox 35mm f/1.8 . lens
35mm has always been a popular focal length, providing a wide yet fairly neutral angle of view, useful for a wide range of applications from astrophotography to portraiture and beyond. There are plenty of 35mm lenses to choose from, and this excellent review takes a look at one of the more affordable options, the Viltrox 35mm f/1.8 AF.
Coming to you from Christopher FrostThis great video review will look at Viltrox 35mm f/1.8 . AF Lens. At $399, the 35mm f/1.8 AF is quite affordable, but it still comes with a host of useful features, including:
- 10 elements in eight groups
- Two extra-low dispersion and two high transparency elements for reduced chromatic aberration and greater clarity
- Two aspherical elements reduce spherical aberrations and distortion and better sharpness
- Multi-layer HD nano coating for less flare and ghosting and deeper contrast
- STM autofocus motor with full-time manual override
- Nine-blade diaphragm for smoother bokeh
- Micro-USB port for firmware updates
All in all, it certainly seems like some compromises have been made to bring the AF 35mm f/1.8 to its price point; Still, it’s a capable performer that won’t break the bank. Check out the video above for Frost’s full thoughts on the lens.
