His small shoulders trembled and his childish eyes filled with sorrow.

He had a puncture wound in his back, and now, he cannot walk. Somehow, he had dragged himself to safety and out of the way, and waited in utter confusion and helplessness.

This is probably where he would have died, if the rescue team hadn’t come to save him. We gently lifted him into the ambulance and from there began his healing journey.
