Reminder – you can share your vehicle’s digital road tax with other drivers via the MyJPJ app
The MyJPJ applicationintroduced last year, offers many useful features, most notably the ability to display digital driving licenses (in case you forgot) and road tax (e-Lesen Kenderaan Motoror e-LKM). This allows drivers to skip putting a tax sticker on your windshield for a cleaner look while still ensuring their vehicle is road legal.
Some of those features may go unnoticed by drivers. Today, X user Aysha Ridzuan (@ayshardzn) shares that she recently discovered that the app allows car owners share their digital road tax with other drivers. This function, introduced at the beginning of the year, means that said driver can bypass road stops and checks even without the car’s actual tax sticker.

To do so, you have to open the MyJPJ app (obviously you need to have your car registration account first), then tap on “Profile” and then “Motor Driver’s License.” From there, you can select the license plate number you want to share with the other driver, which will take you to the digital road tax. At the bottom, tap “Share LKM” then tap the plus icon.
Here you will have to enter the other driver’s IC number, along with the general road tax start and end dates. Tap “Submit” then confirm the driver details by selecting “Yes”. The app will then show you a secure code that you need to share with another driver to activate shared road tax.
Again, it is necessary to share the digital road tax with the other driver rather than just taking a screenshot as the latter can be edited. Allowing police or JPJ staff to view road tax digitally in the MyJPJ app is official and helps prevent fraud.
