Latest motorcycle and customs news
It’s been a week for in-store production bikes, when Arch Motorcycle launched the new 1s and Norton Commando broke the cover. We also have an Indian head racer, a Sportster built for racing in the desert, and a great spoof of one of the best motoring movies ever made.

The new Arch Motorcycle 1 performance cruiser
Arch Motorcycle 1s In case you’re living under a rock, Arch Motorcycle is a boutique motorcycle company, launched in 2011 by Gard Hollinger and Keanu Reeves. Right, that Keanu Reeves. Founded on their shared love of motorcycles and design, Arch currently offers two models, KRGT-1 and the brand new ARCH 1.

Taking elements of American cruisers and combining them with racing and sporty machines, the Arch 1s is a one-of-a-kind motorcycle. The company is calling it the ‘Sport Cruiser’, but this bike passes the classification.

An exclusive 124 ci [2,032 cc] The S&S Cycle’s twin cam engine is housed inside a custom-built frame. Like the KRGT-1, the 1s frame features classic tubular steel elements combined with billet aluminum structural elements.

That may sound like an inappropriate nightmare, but Arch has created something truly beautiful. That’s the kind of engineering you’d expect from an aerospace engineering company, not an independent motorcycle manufacturer.

The swingarm is also billet aluminum, and this is the first time Arch has used a single-sided design. There’s premium Öhlins suspension at both front and rear, and brakes from the Swedish brand ISR.

Carbon fiber is also widely used; The fuel tank side panels, front and rear fenders, curvaceous exhaust silencer and ultralight BST wheels are all in carbon.

Like all Arch motorcycles, the 1s are completely handcrafted in Los Angeles by a team of craftsmen. They are all built to order, and customers can specify a variety of engine and ergonomic packages to suit their style. All of that, for an eye-catching $128,000 price tag.

The 1s look like a sportier product than the more powerful cruiser-oriented KRGT-1, and it’s not as flashy as the company’s Method 143 prototype. In fact, it’s my favorite Arch motorcycle to date. [Arch Motorcycle 1s]

New Norton Commando 961
New Norton Commando 961 SP and CR The Norton Commando loved all over the world by people from all walks of life (like people like Keanu Reeves, for example). This is one of the most iconic British motorcycles ever made – but the Norton name has been beaten down over the past decade.

To put out the burning fire left by Stuart Garner was Norton’s new owner, the TVS Motor Company. Their plan to revive the brand includes a £100 million investment and a new, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Solihull, UK.

That’s right, even though TVS is the third largest motorcycle manufacturer in India, Norton production is still in Ol’ Blighty. And they just finished their first new bike – the redesigned Norton Commando 961 SP and CR.

Under TVS management, Norton is flipping a new section regarding its build quality. The previous-generation Commando ran into problems that TVS solved by redesigning more than a third of the bike, including the frame, transmission and cam-train. We could only go by the photos provided, but the fit and finish seem to have been enhanced.

New Norton Commando 961
The Commando 961 SP and CR are essentially the same bike, but with two different riding positions. The SP continues the traditional Commando setup with a more upright handlebar system, while the CR has a clip-on handlebar. There’s a full set of adjustable Öhlins suspension, while Brembo brakes.

New Norton Commando 961
The new bikes are available in two color options – Matrix Black and Manx Platinum, both of which are traditional Norton colors. The air- and oil-cooled 961 cc parallel engine produces 76.8 hp at 7,250 rpm and 81 Nm of torque at 6,300 rpm. That doesn’t sound like much, but it’s a classic Commando, even if the phased crank now fires at 270 degrees instead of the traditional Norton 360.

Top shelf components, the company’s ‘reputation’ and hand-built do not equate to high prices. At £16,499 [about $18,432] for SP, and £16,999 [about $18,990] As for the CR, the new Commando doesn’t seem to have a good ratio of components — at least on paper.

But this bike wasn’t built for spec sheet scientists. It’s built for those who want the feel of a classic Commando, but don’t have to worry about vintage motorcycles.

Custom India Leader by Noise Cycle and Zach Hindes
Head of India by Noise Cycles and Zach Hindes This attractive classic racer-style Indian headman makes a strong case for the old adage; “Teamwork creates dream jobs.” It is the result of cooperation between DicE Magazine and Indian Motorcycle, who have brought together some of the best names in the custom bike business to bring it to life.

Custom India Leader by Noise Cycle and Zach Hindes
To design the bike, DicE and Indian turned to Scott Jones from Noise Cycle in Nashville, Tennessee. Based on Scott’s vast experience in the world of custom motorcycles, they decided to take the Chief somewhere you least expect – the racetrack.

Starting with a skeleton of the Indian Chief Dark Horse, the bodywork has been stripped away to reveal the solid base layers. Scott points out that cruisers and race bikes have fundamental differences in frame and steering geometry, so he cut his job for him.

After Scott’s design was finalized and built, the bike was Zach by Prism Supply Co. famous, for frame settlement and fabrication. A hand-made and mirror-polished alloy tank. The crank is a vintage unit from the 1970s modified to fit by Zach.

The revised rear spoiler is also from the 70s and now sits on a custom subframe. Sportbike style, the rear double fork is replaced by a single fork. Knowing that the heavy bike would be thrown around the track if dropped recklessly, Zach enhanced the subframe to deal with the extra stress.

Roland Sands sent a set of custom wheels (19” front and 17” rear), along with new rear mounts for the mod. The front fork has been modified to accommodate a second brake disc, supplied by Beringer, along with all other brake components. Sticky Dunlop Sportmax tires instead of factory options.

The engine was left alone, but the team couldn’t resist a custom stainless steel exhaust system built by Zach. The 111 ci duo generates a powerful roar from the Racefit silencer.

From lazy cruisers to fire-tracking weapons, this built-in team is a match made in heaven. But they’re not done yet… next, the bike will become inimitable Conifer for paint.

Good Times Racing custom Sportster scrambler car
Good Times Racing’s Harley-Davidson Sportster There’s something about a Sports athlete Dress like a dirt bike that just feels right. Maybe it’s sheer impracticality, or just aesthetic greatness.

Whatever the reason, I had a slight spot for double spells. And since the AMA added the ‘Hooligan’ class to the National Hound and Hound Championships in the United States, it’s common to see big bikes on the grid often as purpose-built dirt bikes.

Fake motorcycle movie on any other Sunday
On any other Sunday No, it’s not a typo. This is not a famous movie about motorcycles, on any Sunday. It is on any Other Sunday — a Hoxton Moto spoof, based on a segment by Mert Lawwill from Bruce Brown’s iconic 1970s documentary.

Hoxton followed everyone, Dave, to Malle mile in England recently, and filmed his pranks. Dave is a 31-year-old truck driver; an ordinary man races a Honda Cube and a Suzuki GS400 to kick. As a regular Malle Mile attendee, he was the perfect subject for Hoxton’s short film.

“We adapted the original script of Mert Lawwill’s scenes, while mimicking the set-up and visual structure, trying to be as faithful to the original as our non-existent budget would permit.” film producer, Shaun explained.

“Dave brings a natural sense of humor to his scenes. The original prologue reveals a man walking down the street, the workshop and the travel photos and tire modification sequences are straight from the original. “

“Dave doesn’t have a huge fan base like Mert Lawwill, but his teammates are happy to join as fake ‘fans’. Dave’s wife has a cheeky shoulder as we see her totally enjoying the sight of Dave’s back as he leaves the house for a game. And even Dave’s dad shows up as his coach, friend, and father figure. “
