Random: Pokémon fans and tattoo artists are inspired to write it all for charity
A tattoo artist from Stowmarket, Suffolk is aiming to tattoo all 151 of the original Pokémon on fans and customers to raise funds for animal welfare charity Blue Cross.
William Langford, owner of Zen Tattoo Arthas been a tattoo artist for 12 years and has loved Pokémon since childhood, BBC News reports. Langford wanted to “spend the year doing something nice for people/animals” and so he decided to start tattooing the first 151 Pokémon and donate the money from those tattoos to charity.
Langford said of why he chose Blue Cross: “I know that many animals have been moved home or given away during the closure and that always happens around Christmas time as well.” He was inspired to focus this challenge on the original 151 Pokemon after revealing that Ash Ketchum’s time in the anime is coming to an end.
And what a great cause, too. That definitely helps the tattoos look really good – we’re thinking of driving to Suffolk. You can check out all the designs on Langford’s Instagram pagebut here is a couple that we really like so far:
At the time of this writing, Langford has pre-ordered or completed at least 18 of the 151 palm-sized Pokémon inks, and he is aiming to raise £4,000 for Blue Cross by the end of the year. Customers can choose their own design as long as it includes one of the original Pokémon from Red & Blue Pokémon And Yellow.
