Quantic Dream is making a Star Wars game
Developers Heavy Rain, Quantic Dream and Lucasfilm Games are working on it Star Wars: Eclipse, an action-adventure game set in the “golden age of the Jedi”. It was announced at The Game Awards with a rather dramatic trailer featuring an alien playing the drums, adorable green monkeys in a market, space ships, and of course, lots of scenes. spin shiny lightsaber. Rumors are true, afterward.
Star Wars: Eclipse takes place in the era of the Supreme Republic, when there were a lot of Jedi across the galaxy and things were going significantly better than most movies, TV shows, and games.
Game website said it’s set in an uncharted region of the Outer Rim, which sounds interesting, I think all the best sci-fi movies are about uncharted planets. (It’s worth noting that the site also has a nice screenshot gallery.)
Like previous Quantic Dream games, Eclipse will have a branching story, although there’s no word yet on which characters will be joining.
“Star Wars: Eclipse allows you to role-play as a diverse cast of charismatic characters, each with their own story, abilities, and role in the cataclysm of events that could alter the peace. Outer Rim’s carefully balanced,” the website reads.
I would be shocked if we didn’t get to play as at least one Jedi, depending on the context.
It’s still too early to say though. The game is currently in early development, so there is no mention of a release window or platforms yet.
We’re staying up late covering the upcoming PC game from tonight’s lavish marketing: our hit Game Award tag everything.
