QB Head Patrick Mahomes ‘Pups Welcome new baby to their family
Kansas City linebacker Patrick Mahomes and fiancée Brittany Matthews welcomed a baby girl in February 2021. Now 6 months old, baby boy Sterling made a surprise appearance on Matthews’ Instagram story this week.
Along with their new bro in these photos are the family’s two dogs, Steel and Silver. In the captions on the photos, Matthews referred to the group of cuddlers as her “three babies”.
At the end of her story, Matthews shared with her 1 million Instagram followers:
“If this doesn’t make your day bad, what will.”
These adorable pictures show how the new baby fits into his family.
Growing Family
Mahomes and Matthews started dating in high school and have been together for eight years. Their dogs in the photo before Sterling was born.
Pit Bull and Cane Corso even have their own Instagram accounts with 214,000 fans. The account originally belonged to Steel only when he was an only child and a puppy.
Matthews affectionately called Steel as her “first child”, before Sterling was born. Pittie has had the experience of welcoming a new sibling, and Silver has grown massively since first joining the family (as well as a puppy) in January 2019.
When Matthews and Mahomes officially announced their pregnancy, the dogs wore sports jerseys to show off their brother and sister identities. As you’d expect, they also frequently appear in the Kansas City Chiefs’ suit.
Now that the family of four has grown to five, you can expect more sweet photos of them together. By Brittany Matthews @brittanylynneor the dogs themselves @steel_silver_mahomes on Instagram!
Steel and Silver Welcome Sterling to their Bundle
Don’t worry – the interaction between new born baby Sterling and her two physically larger puppies is completely safe. Mahomes and Matthews slowly introduce the dogs to their daughter.
First, the couple sent home some things from the hospital for the dogs to sniff out for Sterling. Matthews described the process on Instagram:
“When we got home, Patrick gave her a hug and we let them sniff her ass while she was in our arms. Also, we don’t really let them get close for a while. We gradually let them be around her more as we felt comfortable and they started to notice how to treat her. ”
The photos Matthews shared about her baby cuddling with her dogs shows how sweet and protective dogs can be to those they consider part of their pack.
