Ashleigh stepped up to foster a blind and deaf fifteen-year-old Basset Hound named Beignet. She was already the mother of a Basset Hound puppy named Beefy. Though her hands were busy, Ashleigh knew she could help the senior dog and couldn’t understand refusing her.
Beignet was so severely neglected and malnourished that she was too weak to walk. Every bone was visible through her emaciated body. It’s so sad! Incredibly, Beefy understood Beignet’s heartache and spent every moment by her side, comforting her. When Beignet slept, Beefy lay on the dog bed beside her.
The adoptive mother is determined to help Beignet walk. She puts the dog in a sling and teaches it strength training. Ashleigh was amazed at the determined puppy’s progress. She thought Beignet would be a hospice case, but then everything changed! Through Ashleigh and Beefy’s love, Beignet became the dog she always wanted to be!
