Price for Mercedes-Benz Vito available for 2022, but there’s a new powertrain for most models.
All Vito 116 and 119 models use a new 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine, called the OM 654, mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission.
It replaces the turbo-diesel OM 651 2.0-liter four, which is mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission.
Mercedes-Benz says the change takes effect for all vehicles manufactured from March 2022 on, and the first cars will go on sale in May 2022.
Outputs are unchanged – 120kW and 380Nm of torque in the Vito 116 models, and 140kW and 440Nm in the Vito 119 variants.
The 116 and 119 models are all priced up from $3688 to $4,233, but Mercedes-Benz has included additional equipment.
This includes tinted windows, front ‘Comfort Seats’, all-season rubber floor mats and adaptive cruise control.
Mercedes-Benz says the new nine-speed has a wider differential that “could help improve transmission quality and fuel efficiency”, although local fuel economy figures have not been released.
The company says the new engine includes a diesel particulate filter (DPF) closer to the engine block, allowing it to reach optimum operating temperature more quickly, while minimizing noise and vibration.
The entry-level, front-wheel drive Vito 111, with prices also increasing, continues with the 1.6-litre OM 622 turbo-diesel engine, which produces 84kW and 270Nm and is mated to a six-speed manual transmission.
The range continues to include 5-seat Crew Cab and van variants. The relevant Valente human transfer tool has been renamed Vito Tourer.
In the second half of 2022, the Vito lineup will get a new electric variant called eVito.
Likewise, the portfolio of Mercedes-Benz Vans will grow to include the respective electric passenger vehicles: the eVito Tourer and the EQV.

Engine
2022 Mercedes-Benz Vito 111 used 1.6-liter turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine with 84kW power and 270Nm torque, mated to a six-speed manual transmission.
Vito 116 and Vito 119 both use 2.0 liter turbo-diesel four-cylinderwith 120kW and 380Nm before and 140kW and 440Nm in the following section. Both use a nine-speed automatic transmission.
Vito 111 models are front-wheel drive while Vito 116 and 119 models are rear-wheel drive.
Energy saving
Fuel economy figures of Mercedes-Benz Vito 2022 have not been announced yet.
All models have a 70L fuel tank.

Mercedes-Benz Vito 2022 has a length of 4895mm in SWB model, 5140mm in MWB model and 5370mm in LWB model.
For panel valve models, the load length is 2586mm in SWB, 2831mm in MWB and 3061mm in LWB.
All models are 2244mm wide, including the mirror. Maximum load bay width is 1709mm.
All models have a maximum roof load of 150kg. Brake pulling capacity is 2000kg in Vito 111 and 2500kg in Vito 116 and 119.
Service and Warranty
Mercedes-Benz Vito is warranted for 5 years, 250,000 km.
Mercedes-Benz offers three different prepaid service packages, with terms ranging from three to five years. Maintenance is required every 12 months or 25,000 km.
