Preparing a circular on electric vehicle charging stations in high-rise, high-density residential areas – KPKT
The Department of Local Government Development (KPKT) said a circular on electric vehicle charging stations is being drafted to be located in residential areas across the country.
The circular will include the registration procedure and appropriate instructions for the installation of EV charging stations, Russian Economic Zone Minister Kor Ming said in a written response to parliament in response to a question from MP Petaling Jaya. Lee Cheung Chung.
“The ministry, through the Department of Urban and Rural Planning (PlanMalaysia) is preparing a circular related to the registration and approval procedures for the development of electric vehicle charging stations under the local government,” Ms. Nga said. .
He said this registration procedure involves simplifying the installation of EV charging stations as well as shortening the approval time of local authorities.
“The planning guide also sets out minimum requirements for the provision of parking spaces for electric vehicle charging stations for all types of existing and new developments, including [those] in multi-storey or high-density housing complexes,” continued the minister.
The circular is being finalized at the ministerial level and will be presented at the meeting of the national council on local government (MNKT), scheduled for June, he added.
