And then the ritual: The heads bowed around the coffin. A time for four people to quietly remember.

They appeared to be lost in thought, as members of the public were still allowed to pass through to pay their respects inside St Giles Cathedral.

While it was another day with moments of pause, it was also a reminder of the relentless schedule the new King was keeping.

On Tuesday he moved to Northern Ireland, the cameras moving with him, as he hopes to bring with it a positive public reaction every step of the way.
