Little variety, very scary
If you like PS1 style games, less quality like metoday Directly combine puppets stream is a dream. That’s a bunch of games coming our way, both from the Godfather of lo-fi horror, Ben Cocuzza, and according to his publishing label, Torture Star Video. Headers all look great, but let’s go from beginning to end.
Avoid leaving the house this july
It was listed on Steam for the age of a pig, but Avoid leaving the house will finally reach the wider public in July. The survival horror part and the “stealth role-playing sim” part Avoid leaving the house puts you in the clutches of a deranged serial killer. You need to stay out of sight and find a way to escape from his house.
Instead of a straight game, Avoid leaving the house Do you avoid traps and “The Butcher’s” family as you try to escape. It sounds like the classic Puppet Combo, but luckily we only have a month to wait to find out what tricks he can throw at us.
Night at Hell’s Gate come to us from the creator Blood washing
For something completely different, Jordan King, creator Blood washingis bringing us the horror of survival, Night at Hell’s Gate. With this bloody mini-game, Jordan is challenging himself to present a classic game Resident Evil First person experience with slow and menacing zombies. You play as David, who is trying to escape the zombie infestation taking place in his city and find out the truth behind them.
Features lo-fi visuals, lots of creepy visuals, and a 70s disco soundtrack, Night at Hell’s Gate is a love letter to the Italian zombie movie. There is no exact release date for this one, but we could start looking for it around Q3 2022.
A finished Massacre of electric drill Coming soon on Steam
Massacre of electric drill is something of a legendary title among Puppet Combo fans. It was originally released in 2015 in an unfinished state, but while it has been all this time, what was introduced has caught the attention of fans. It’s actually his first title that I’ve played myself, and it’s certainly a great representation of his murderous horror style.
You play as an unexpected car crash victim who is looking for help in exactly the wrong place. She finds herself being hunted by the Driller Killer who… I probably don’t need to explain his MO
The finished game has been expanded with new areas, expanding gameplay and improving quality of life. There are also new playable characters, multiple endings, and new camera styles. Fun tool for anyone to experience the original version. It will also launch on Steam for the first time. We’ll wait until Q4 2022 to see the rest of the Drill Killer story.

Slippery survival horror Deadly Night coming in August
Billed as “the most or less smooth killer ever created,” Deadly Night comes to us from Cubite Games, the developers of NIGHT GUARD and La Compana. Deadly Night Carol hitchhiked into a motel that she would probably never check out of. Hopefully, the ice maker works.
A trailer shows some gruesome scenes and images of the killer that will follow you. I’m a total sucker for the bleak parking lot aesthetic for some reason. That was all it took to show me and I was disappointed. Looks like I’ll be shutting down this August when it’s released on Steam via Torture Star Video.
Horror love Blood washing Coming to the dashboard
Speaking of the bleak parking lot aesthetic, one of the favorite horror title from last year will come to the console. Blood washing is the story of Sara, who absolutely has to do laundry and the only 24-hour laundromat located on the outskirts of town. Girl, we’ve all been there. Unfortunately for her, the dreaded Womb Ripper has snooped around, and she looks terribly pregnant.
It’s a pretty unique title where you stress yourself out by wasting time at a strip mall, learning about the terrible things that happened there. Blood washing is a great example of the creativity found in the lo-fi horror subgenre, so if you’re constrained by console, be sure to take a look this summer.
It’s a good series of games to look forward to throughout the year. Unfortunately, I want them now. If my relentless outpouring doesn’t leave you satisfied, I’m a huge fan of the subgenre and of Puppet Combo in particular. I feel the lack of lo-fi, cheap scares, so I’ll keep an eye on all these upcoming titles.
