Police remind parents to make sure their children follow the law when riding motorbikes; Ops Didik is held

With the start of the 2023 semester in Malaysia next week, the police Traffic Investigation and Enforcement (JSPT) Remind parents for their children to obey traffic laws. Focusing on students riding motorbikes to school, police said a license is required to demonstrate competence when operating a motor vehicle.

Next, wearing a helmet is mandatory for both the driver and the passenger. In addition, children under the age of 16 are not allowed to ride a motorbike in Malaysia.

Complaining about some parents allowing their children to ride motorbikes to school without complying with the necessary regulations, the police’s social media statement said this has gone on for too long due to parents’ attitudes lack of goodwill towards road safety.

JSPT will conduct “Ops Didik” on a targeted basis in schools nationwide starting next week. Police continue to take a supportive approach to student and motorcycle safety.
