Pokémon Inspired MMO Gets Big New Update – Nuzlocke Mode, New Region & More

One Pokémon-like monster-catching game that has actually worked pretty well for itself is temtem. Since arriving on Nintendo Switch last September, the game has received several updates.

This latest (Version 1.3) is probably the coolest update yet – adding new modes, regions, seasons, events and more:

For starters, it adds a “nuzlocke mode“, imposes “heavy and strict rules” on players:

“You can only catch The first 2 stamps you see on each route (1 Temtem for each if you’re playing Co-op!), and defeating them or running away from them still counts as seeing them.

Any Stamps that faint during your adventure will be released after the battle. The Stamps you catch will no longer spawn, so don’t spawn and you could lose if all of your Stamps are destroyed.”

Next is Random lock mode. It shares the rules of Nuzlocke mode and randomizes a lot of things:

“From temtem (Including Beginners and Quest Stamps!), to technique, collect item around the world, NPC team, untamed encounter… The only things that will remain the same (mostly for technical reasons) will be the Temtem species, with their stats and evolutions, Traits and Gears. This way, Stamps will remain part of their identity even in this chaotic Challenge mode.”

Then there’s a new one Sfast running mode – where the task is simply to complete sections and games as quickly as possible. If you beat a certain number of times, you will be rewarded with some items in your main slots.

With that, there’s also a new season.”Part 3 – Clash of the Tamers“, a new event “Goblin Night”, change and improve balance. Last but not least is a new area: Nanto Laboratories. Here is the summary:

“The doors of Nanto Labs will be open to all curious Tamers in 1.3! Inside, you’ll be able to exchange your Lumas for a new currency, called a new currency. analgesic.

“The number of Luma Drops you will receive for each Luma will depend on species of temtemand are you OT for them, or soul for them. The more you want, the more you have to sacrifice: that’s the law of equivalent exchange.”
