BMW has made some great motorcycles over the decades, and the K1 is definitely a motorcycle. That weird bike with its extreme ninety graphics pack has been on my list of must-own bikes for a long time, but this modified version takes the top spot, as it fixes all both the problems with K1 and making it a much better sport. bike. The K1’s glorious high-revving dual cam is never a problem, and it really comes to life with a custom Georges Martin frame and race-inspired bodywork.

I’ve been thinking about it for a few days now, as it swims through my cerebellum day and night. I already have two BMWs, a Harley and a Honda, and I don’t need another bike. Dammit! I certainly don’t. So buy it so I can forget it ever existed.

Only 50 sets of Brune/Martin frames and regulators ever made, and the seller alleges that today there are only about 10 left in the world. Obviously there’s no way to verify that claim, so we’ll just take it as salt for now. Either way, it was a rare item that never went on sale. The frame is a fully polished chromoly assembly with a nickel finish. It was a stiffer and sportier frame than what BMW offered for the killer sports bike of the time.

Completing the custom work on this bike are the hand-made alloy fuel tank, custom detachable tailgate, Force Italia fork, White Power rear shock unfortunately named three-spoke PBM wheels and exhaust. RB Racing. This is roughly the highest performance you could get from a bike in the early 1990s. However, the big highlight for me was the custom BMW Motorsport paint job with purple seat material and valve covers. suitable!

This bike first came to my attention last week through the bike-urious.com/ Iconic motorcycle auction site for rare motorcycles. I had been contemplating bidding for a week and in the end never made it. I tried to throw a last minute bid, but unfortunately couldn’t log in with enough time to raise the bid. When that listing closed, the bike was pumped up to just over $13,000, but not enough stock. So I was just a little surprised to see the bike hit on eBay this week when sellers don’t get what they want from the proper auction site.

You can read more about the history of this bike on the bikeand even more about Georges Martin and Brune on seller Ron Sutter’s website. Interestingly, the bike was listed as a 1989 model on the Iconic Motorbikes auction, and listed as a 1991 model on eBay. Maybe the engine comes from a 1989 VIN, but was assembled in 1991? I may never know, and now is my chance not to care.

This bike deserves a new home and is one that will show it off to the world. Drive this wild machine to your nearest Radwood and make sure you have room in your backpack to carry a trophy for the ride home. I mean, look at it. It doesn’t get more rad than that.
