Most of the time, wildlife actively avoids humans and dogs. They know that keeping their distance is the best way to keep them safe, but not all animals share that mindset. A wild deer named Daisy doesn’t always see dogs and humans as a threat. There is a special dog that she considers her best friend!
Whenever a dog named Yukon and his human go for a walk nearby, Daisy always shows up. She wishes Yukon would play or dance with her, but he seems indifferent. However, Yukon’s dad loves the deer antics so he posted an adorable video of her with Yukon.
Dancing deer
Yukon’s dad says that every time they go for a walk, Daisy shows up. She seems to think she’s part of the dog, so she’s always trying to get Yukon to interact with her. One day, Yukon’s father took a video of the silly deer to share with everyone.
In the YouTube video, Daisy and Yukon are playing in the river. The senior dog waded around peacefully while the deer couldn’t sit still. Daisy playfully dances around the dog, and it looks like she’s dancing.

“This deer thinks it’s a dog and runs after my dog when we go for a walk. This time she felt a little irritable. My dog (Yukon) and (Daisy), an orphaned fawn, became friends for a short time. Whenever I take Yukon for a walk, Daisy will suddenly appear,” the caption on YouTube wrote.
Yukon’s humans aren’t sure what the deer’s story is, but she’s never been with other deer and she’s very friendly with pets and people. Maybe she thinks she’s a dog!
The dog is still not in use
Daisy refuses to stop her dance moves as long as Yukon is around. While most dogs are excited about any opportunity to play, Yukon doesn’t care. As Daisy walks around, the dog looks for rocks in the water instead. When he found a beautiful rock, he brought it to the shore to show his father.
“On this particular day, she’s in a playful mood, but Yukon might be less concerned. He just wanted to pick up rocks for me,” Yukon’s father wrote.
No matter how many times Yukon ignores Daisy, it looks like the deer will keep trying to teach the dog to dance. However, even if he never joins her, she seems happy to dance alone while he collects stones. Just because two animals have different interests doesn’t mean they can’t be friends!
