Pittsburgh Bridge collapses under heavy snow at Frick Park
Amie Downs, the county’s communications director, was notified of the partial collapse of the bridge just after 6 a.m. Friday, said in a statement.
Mr Downs said four vehicles were on the bridge at the time of the collapse and only minor injuries were reported, adding that a driver of an articulated bus and two passengers Guests were among those rescued with minor injuries.
According to Pittsburgh Fire Department Superintendent Darryl Jones, there was a large gas leak caused by the tunnel collapse.
“Some families have been evacuated from their homes. They have been allowed to return. We have been informed by the gas company that all of their gas service has been restored,” Jones said.
There are some reports of people feeling sick in the area due to the natural gas, Downs said. They are being treated at the scene.
