The PGA Tour confirmed Friday that it will not allow players affiliated with a rival LIV Golf tournament to renew their membership for 2022-23.
Decision, covered earlier in the day by Sports Illustrated, which means LIV players will not be allowed to compete in PGA Tour events during the 2022-2023 season. The move comes after players have switched to the Saudi Arabia-backed LIV league indefinitely. Suspended from PGA Tour in June.
On Friday, a PGA spokesperson told CNBC that players are not eligible for renewals because their contracts with LIV prevent them from maintaining membership requirements.
