Stellantis Malaysia has been busy expanding its Peugeot dealer network recently, but the product is the key ingredient that makes it work for the brand and by the looks of it, the follow-up Peugeot 408 may be put into use soon.

Could the all-new 3008 be the next Pug to hit our shores? Well, the sighting of two crossovers outside the Stellantis office in Mutiara Damansara suggests just that. Reader Jon Koh spotted the cars parked on the side of the road and captured the photos you see here.

Interestingly, both units are e-3008s, the all-electric version of the P64, is identified by the fuel filler cap located on the left side of the car (the mild-hybrid petrol version has the cap on the right side of the car) and, in the second photo, by the leading edge – just visible – of the ‘e’ prefix before the number 3008 on the rear doors of the second car.

With its angular lines and curves, the new 3008 looks sleek, and its fastback roofline helps give the nameplate a different look from the second-generation’s traditional SUV theme. Underpinned by Stellantis’ STLA Medium platform, the electric version of the model comes in three variants.

First is the base version with 210 horsepower and 250 pound-feet of torque, equipped with a 73 kWh battery, giving the car a range of up to 320 miles. Next is the Dual-Motor version, which has a front motor configuration of 211 horsepower/250 pound-feet and a rear motor of 111 horsepower/166 pound-feet. It also has a 73 kWh battery and a similar range of 320 miles.

The Long Range version retains the single-motor design, but increases power to 230 horsepower while maintaining 343 Nm of torque, and with a higher capacity 98 kWh battery pack, the car can travel up to 700 km.

In terms of charging, the e-3008 comes with an 11 kW AC charger as standard, but there is an optional 22 kW AC charger. For DC charging, it takes around 30 minutes to charge the 73 kWh battery from SoC 20 to 80% in 30 minutes at a maximum rate of 160 kW.

It’s not known whether the company will go all-electric with this model or introduce a 1.2-liter mild hybrid version as well. We’ll find out when the time is right.
