Petrol RON97 in Malaysia hits another record high – up two sen to RM4.72 in June 2022 second week update
It’s time for a weekly petrol price update, with the Ministry of Finance having announced retail prices for the next week from June 9 to 15. You think the price of RON 97 gas can’t be higher than it was two weeks ago? Well, guess what, it does.
The gain isn’t quite as dramatic as previous weeks, but the two sen means the fuel has set an all-time high – it’s now priced at RM4.72 per liter (RM4.70 ) last week). Fuel sales have been reported about 65% off since its price skyrocketed, and this is sure to drive that percentage up even more.
All this of course has no impact on the price of RON 95 gasoline, which continues at ceiling price RM 2.05 per liter according to government regulations last February. Likewise, diesel remains at a capped price of RM2.15 per liter for a Euro 5 B10 and B20 blend, and RM2.35 per liter for Euro 5 B7.
These rates will be in effect from midnight tonight through Wednesday, June 15, when the next fuel price update will be announced. This is the 24th edition of weekly fuel price format for this year and 178th in total since the format was introduced in 2019.
