If you’re looking for the perfect pair of tights, check out these adorable pieces from artist Melodie Musick. Unlike normal high school and high school art classes, Melodie was mostly self-taught, but she fell in love with drawing and painting.
Melodie Opens Her Etsy Store (RaeRussellDesigns) in 2019, starting with portraits and tote bags. When she came across a cute jute sock that she thought might be fun to work with, she drew one for her dog. After posting on Facebook, everyone loved it and actually she got quite a few orders based on that post. So she added it to her store, and it’s grown since then – now she’s in her fourth year creating and selling socks.
A lifelong animal lover, Melodie is particularly fond of dogs. “I grew up with dogs, cats, horses, cows,” she said. “But there is something about dogs. I love their personalities, their ability to love and forgive, and their uniqueness.”
Her step dog, 11-year-old Trooper Russell, is her inspiration. “He didn’t have the best first part of his life,” Melodie said. “There was some abuse and some bad situations, but now he is nothing but a love ball. When I adopted him, I named him Trooper because that’s what he was – he kept going no matter what, loving all the people he loved. he meets”.
One of her favorite parts of drawing stockings is seeing the photos she has submitted by clients. “I love their names, their expressions, and I love knowing that they are loved so much that people want to draw them,” she says. “I wish that every animal could be loved like that in their lifetime.”
