Perodua leaky oil filter problem
On the sidelines Malaysia Motor Show 2023Perodua addressed the leaky oil filter issue that has been the talk of many owners on social media in recent months.
According to Perodua President and CEO, Datuk Seri Zainal Abidin Ahmad, the problem involves 40,000 Perodua cars across all current models except the Aruzso only axis, beza, myvi, Ativa And Alza affected – common parts are shared.
He added that the faulty oil filters were replacements from another supplier because the original manufacturer’s oil filters were fitted to cars coming out of the company’s manufacturing plant. Perodua uses two suppliers because a single supplier has insufficient production capacity.
Customers who experience this issue will be able to claim a warranty that includes an oil filter and free oil change.
Perodua notes that since February of this year, claims have been on a downward trend, and it hopes to have the issue resolved by mid-2023 through an alternative or product-improved supplier.
