FW de Klerk, the final chief of apartheid-era South Africa who shared a Nobel Peace Prize with Nelson Mandela after working to finish racial segregation within the nation, died on the age of 85, his basis stated on Thursday, November 11. De Klerk launched Mandela, his subsequent successor, from jail and laboriously negotiated a transition to democracy, ending a decades-long segregationist system that stored South Africa’s White minority in energy over the Black majority for generations.
