The British Pound for pound listings is largely subjective. Every fan of the sport of pugilistic has an opinion about who is the best boxer in the world. Although most of the names occupying those lists are roughly the same, the beginnings of said lists tend to be different.

However, in Paulie Malignaggi’s mind, he believes that the best boxer in the world is in Omaha, Nebraska.

Malignaggi told Paulie TV: “My number one guy on the pound list is Terence Crawford. “He is a guy who can fight from both stances very, very well. A very smart gladiator, a very smart gladiator. He relies on timing, picking his shots, it’s really hard to pick out a mistake in his style. He has incredible, incredible boxing skills that will make you fall in love. ”

Crawford, 34, is often praised for his overall skill in the ring. In addition to his ability to fight as a mainstream boxer and boxer, Crawford has developed in the ability to score sensational knockout victories.

During their overtaking at 140 pounds, Crawford roughly stripped them of all their world championship titles on their way to becoming undisputed. With nothing left to accomplish, Crawford chose to increase the weight and try his hand at welder. To date, Crawford has not only gone 6-0 in the welterweight event, but he’s also parried every 147 pounder he’s faced in the process.

Most recently, Crawford placed his WBO title ahead of arguably the toughest opponent of the career of two-time former champion Shawn Porter. Heading into the November 20 game, which took place at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, Malignaggi was intrigued by how things would turn out in the end.

Although Porter was confident in his ability to step into the lions’ den against Crawford and emerge with WBO jewelry slung over his shoulder, the Omaha-born player scored the most impressive goal of his career. Early on, Crawford proved difficult before Porter’s rough and rough kick. However, as time went on, Crawford began to adapt to the old list of titles. And as a result, Crawford not only scored an injury-time goal in round 10, but also secured Malignaggi’s number one spot in the table.

“I think that is very, very impressive,” Malignaggi continued. “Porter specializes in making you look bad, especially when you have that pretty style. Porter just screwed that up for you, totally screwed that up. He literally takes your comfort zone away in a vicious way, he has a streak of evil in it.

“Ultimately, Crawford got through the fight, I wouldn’t say with flying colors. There were some moments where he was a little annoyed but hey man, this is world class boxing. You won’t show off to everyone. But he was stopped anyway by Shawn Porter. He became the first guy to stop Shawn Porter. He’s the number one boxer on the planet. It was a great win. For me, it confirms him as the number one guy on the pound list.”
