Storms in the Pacific Ocean have been on a 70-year downward trend
The Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) presents the latest data on typhoons in the Pacific Ocean – dating back to 1951.
Summer climate alarmists in Europe have been chasing “heat waves,” possibly because storms and hurricanes have been on the quiet side.
Today we look at data from the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) on the number of hurricanes that formed in the Pacific in July, data for July is now available:
It is clear that the world has warmed somewhat since 1951, but contrary to what climate researchers claim, the storm trend has decreased – suggesting that a warmer climate leads to fewer storms in the Pacific. More positive in the number of storms formed. This is the opposite of what climate “experts” say will happen.
Next, we look at the number of hurricanes that formed in the Pacific between January and July, since 1951:
While the data for 2022 is incomplete, we take it as a reminder of the number of hurricanes that form each year through 2020:
Data sources: JMA.
The climate experts were wrong, and the media misled us. Storms do not strengthen and become more frequent.
