Oscar De La Hoya accused in double sexual assault lawsuit

Oscar De La Hoya, the legendary boxer turned high-profile promoter, has been accused of sexually assaulting a woman on two separate occasions. The LA time wrote that the alleged victim was a “tequila company executive.” The civil suit was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Wednesday. According to the lawsuit, an assault occurred in Mexico in March 2020 when De Lay Hoya knocked on the door of the alleged victim’s hotel room “with ankle-length pants.” De La Hoya reports that “then pushed the way into the room, and onto her bed.”
The lawsuit goes on to claim the alleged victim, who was touring the Casa Mexico Tequila distillery “pushed him out of bed and took him to his room, opened the door, and immediately returned to his private room.” she.” According to the lawsuit, the woman woke De La Hoya, who partially owned the Casa Mexican Tequila, the next morning in his room. Later, De La Hoya is said to have forced the victim “to his bed, where he sexually assaulted her.”
De La Hoya allegedly assaulted the victim a second time in Los Angeles after a dinner for the operators of Casa Mexico Tequila. According to the suit, “at some point, when De La Hoya was alone with [the woman], he revealed and retrieved a sex object from a collection stored in his home. According to the lawsuit, the alleged victim, “recognized her relatively new status with the company, De La Hoya’s status both within the company and internationally, and the large disparities in power and influence between her and De La Hoya, reasonably intimidating from the company.. At a minimum, [she] realized that this incident had caused conflict among members and the company’s board of directors, placed her in a negative light, and thus caused ongoing damage to her personal and professional reputation hers. ”
De La Hoya has been accused of sexual assault once before, in the late 90s. The matter was settled out of court. According to LA time“The charges against De La Hoya are one of the 10 causes of action presented in the civil action against Casa Mexico.”
