I used OPI’s base coat, color, and topcoat to create the coats at home. The great thing about its polishes is that they’re easy to use for anyone trying to get a manicure at home—the brushes are the ideal size for maximum control.
The base coat is very smooth and even, and dries quickly, so I don’t have to wait too long between coats. The color was so obvious that I felt like I could erase it with just one coat, but I ended up using two just to make sure it looked even and wasn’t transparent. The top coat really impressed me with how short the drying time is. I was able to do normal tasks without worrying about my nails getting smudged within 20 minutes.
The gloss finish grips very well on my hands, but some of the top edges start to wear off after two days. This might be more noticeable since I chose a darker color, but it’s something to keep in mind. Otherwise, it doesn’t crack or start pulling up at the cuticle.
The formula itself didn’t leave me with any bubbles (that’s my pet when I do my nails myself). It was also very shiny and remained shiny until I took it off. All in all, if you’re looking for a solid nail polish to keep in your collection, OPI is one of my top recommendations for you.
