Andrew Whitworth Will Make NFL History on “Monday Night Football.”

Whitworth will be dressed for the first time at the age of 40 when the Rams take the post of Cardinal. In doing so, the Rams’ left tackle will become the oldest player to start the game on a left tackle in NFL history.

Whitworth was the second-round pick by the Bengals in the 2006 NFL Draft. He has spent his career with the Bengals and Rams and will play in his 236th game on Monday. He started 232 of those games, placing 27th in NFL history with Ronde Barber and Eugene Robinson.

Impressively, Whitworth will be only the second player 40 or older to play in the NFL this season. Typically in the past, there have been a few free-kicks, long-rangers and even midfielders ahead of him on the longest-running list of active players.

But now, only one player is older than Whitworth. That would be Tom Brady, the oldest active player in the NFL.

No wonder Tom Brady is the oldest active player in the NFL. He was the only player 40 or older to play in the NFL this season before Whitworth appeared on “Monday Night Football.”
