Holmgren wasted no time getting the game’s first card on the books.
The 20-year-old rookie scored 13 points with 80% shooting and three saves in the first quarter. He ate 3 for 4 from the 3-point line and 2 for 2 from the free-throw line.
Holmgren, the 7-foot-1 tester, continued to impress as the first half progressed, performing quite well against the 7-foot-6 Tacko Fall.
Holmgren eventually led all scorers with 23 points in a 7-to-9 shoot. He also had seven rebounds and four assists. His six blocks are the most of any player on either team, with the next closest player (Josh Giddey) only two.
