OJ Simpson gets early pardon for armed robbery: NPR

OJ Simpson is now “a completely free man,” his attorney said after the Nevada pardon board granted him early release for Convicted in 2008 for armed robbery.
Simpson, 74, was released from the hospital early for good behavior, his attorney, Malcolm LaVergne, said on Tuesday. He was originally set to be released on parole on September 29, 2022, but over the summer the date was moved to February 9, according to The Associated Press.
The former NFL star and actor was acquitted of the 1994 murders of his ex-wives, Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman. He was later found responsible for their deaths in a civil case. The lawsuit in California ordered him to pay $33.5 million to the victim’s family.

Nevada State Police spokesman Kim Yoko Smith confirmed on Tuesday that Simpson was released on December 1, a day after the state pardon board approved the move.
