NTRA donates $10k to the Purebred Aftercare Coalition
The 52nd Annual Eclipse Awards organized by the National Thoroughbred Racing Association kicked off at The Breakers in Palm Beach, Fla on Thursday night, January 26. Official Charity Partner , Purebred Aftercare Alliance was honored during the awards ceremony. NTRA ended the evening by announcing a donation of $10,000 to TAA.
“The work and mission of the Thoroughbred Care Alliance is critical to the growth and success of our industry,” said Tom Rooney, President and CEO of NTRA. “NTRA is grateful for the care and appraisal provided by the TAA every day to support our retired racehorses, and we encourage everyone to join us to support their cause. “
TAA Operations Advisor, Stacie Clark Rogers, and 1/ST RACING Executive Vice President and Acting President and General Manager of the Maryland Jockey Club Mike Rogers presented both the Women’s Sprint Championship and Champion for Goodnight Olive (coach: Chad Brown; owner: First Row Partners & Team Hanley; driver: Irad Ortiz Jr.) and Elite Power Men’s Sprinter Champion (coach: coach) : William Mott; owner: Juddmonte; driver: Irad Ortiz Jr.).

NTRA further enhanced its aftercare presence at the awards ceremony by broadcasting a condensed version of TAA’s “Ten Years Anniversary” short film.
Additionally, NTRA coordinated a Sip, Shop, and Support event at Lilly Pulitzer, where TAA received 10% of the day’s sales proceeds and a lottery draw for a Lilly Pulitzer wallet. hand painted with all proceeds to benefit TAA.
