Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly is leaving LSU, according to reports
Kelly – Notre Dame’s head coach since the 2010 season – will replace current LSU head coach Ed Orgeron. LSU announced October 17 that the school and Orgeron will part ways after the 2021 season ends.
CNN has reached out to LSU and Notre Dame seeking comment.
Under Orgeron, LSU won the national championship in the 2019-20 season but has struggled since. The Tigers are 6-6 this season, including 3-5 in the Southeast game. In 2020, one affected season Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, LSU won 5-5.
Notre Dame is 11-1 this season – with its only loss to the University of Cincinnati – and still has the potential to make it into the group of four College football league. Fighting Irish is currently ranked 6th. Latest College Football Playoff rankings will be released Tuesday.
