Nissan Z is factory customized before going to market

New Nissan Z may not be on sale yet, but we should still see a custom version at Tokyo Auto Shop. It’s correct, Nissan It was itself that decided to create a custom model to introduce with the not-so-creative name of the Nissan Fairlady Z Customized Proto. Nissan doesn’t give out a lot of information about the car, but as far as we can tell, it’s mainly to get the brains of buyers and customizers to switch to how they personalize their Zs.

Customized Proto takes the nostalgic theme of the production car and runs with it. The front end has the biggest change with a separate rear bumper. The narrow upper grille looks like the grille of the Original 240Z, and some Automatic log employees see it as an improvement over the production design. On the sides, modest fenders were added to add visual width and accommodate wider tyres. Those tires wrapped around the wheel seem to be inspired by famous RS Watanabe wheel design.

The back has not changed as clearly as the front, but there are a lot of interesting details to notice upon closer inspection. The ducktail spoiler is a glaring return to the original Z, and it’s the highlight of the classic Fairlady Z script at the rear. The dual exhaust ends with a number of unique quad-shaped exhaust tips, with the ends forming a circle on the sides. And the whole car is finished in vivid orange with black accents on the hood, spoiler and side stripes.

We quite like this modified Z and we’ll be happy to see the rest of the after-sales planned for the car when it actually went on sale.
