Nissan Patrol V8 breaks sales record
The Nissan Patrol The ‘Y62’ V8 series set an all-time sales record in Australia in March 2022, with 918 units delivered.
That overshadows previous monthly record Ordered in September 2021 is 700 units. It also put Patrol’s annual sales tally of 1703, up 94% over the same period last year.
Much of the Patrol’s recent growth is supported by supply headaches about newly launched products Toyota LandCruiser 300 Series, its main competitor. Toyota sold 844 LandCruiser wagons in March, some of which include the 70 Series agricultural.
That said, Nissan is also having trouble finding the right supply, leading to its own waiting list.
Patrol wears a price sticker before going on the road that starts at $82,160 and climbs to $95,115. However, there are a few used models with a few miles in the assortment that will cost $120,000 – a similar problem with that potential LandCruiser buyers face.
The timing of the Y62 Patrol’s record month was interesting, with the 5.6-litre V8’s ADR fuel claim of 14.4 liters of petrol per 100km – at the time fuel prices were around $2 per litre.
