Nissan is gradually expanding the list of parts it reproduces for older variations of GT-CHEAP. It came out its Nismo Heritage program in 2017 with around 80 components, and the company announced a custom-made titanium exhaust system for three generations of vehicles in December of this year.
Buyers in Japan has the option to order a full exhaust system that includes a front exhaust with integrated catalytic converter, a middle exhaust with silencer and a silencer with Nismo-branded tips. These sections blur the line between stocks and after-sales. Otherwise, they are designed by Nissan to be a direct replacement for factory-installed exhaust components. Otherwise, they’re manufactured in titanium so they’re about 28 pounds lighter than stock, and design tweaks made to the hub tube and silencer reduce pressure in the line by about 7%.
Nissan is offering three exhaust systems: one for the R32-generation GT-R launched in 1989, one for the 1995-generation R33 model, and one for the 1999 R34-generation. so it is very welcome. -Following classics in recent years.
No matter what generation of GT-R is in your garage, exhaust systems don’t come cheap. Units suitable for R32 and R33 models are priced at 726,000 yen, according to the Japanese website Car clock, which represents about $6,400 at current conversion rates. R34 owners will need to deposit Nissan 737,000 yen (about $6,500). As a balance, the exhaust components are manufactured according to the factory requirements.
There is no word yet on whether Nissan will offer its titanium exhaust system in the United States. Older versions of the GT-R aren’t officially sold here, but a lot of them are rampant (sometimes via Canada) because they’re now old enough to be legally imported.
