The beginning of the year is never the busiest time for shiny new releases, but with Nintendo’s next big title coming soon, there’s still enough on offer if you’re looking to treat yourself.

Who wants more Dragon Quest spin-offs? we want more Dragon Quest spin-offs!
Well, on December 9, Square Enix is set to launch Dragon Quest Treasures. game stars XI Dragon Questof Erik and Mia – the young versions of the couple to be exact – and takes place in the mysterious land of Draconia. Expect to race across open fields, expanse cliffs, and glide through deep chasms in search of that prestigious treasure.
Erik and his sister Mia live on a Viking longboat, dreaming of the day they can explore the world in search of great treasure. One night, they encounter a pair of otherworldly creatures, Porcus and Purrsula, and are transported to a mysterious place called Draconia – a mythical land filled with treasures waiting to be discovered. The adventure Erik and Mia dreamed of has finally begun!
HD remake of Final Fantasy VIIPrequel to Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion arrives on Switch on December 13.
This new remaster includes all new HD graphics, renewed 3D models, improved combat system, fully voiced dialogue in English and Japanese, as well as newly arranged soundtrack from the original composer, Takeharu Ishimoto. You can relive Zack Fair’s story and learn all about his connection to the Final Fantasy Cloud star below.
Nintendo’s next major release is Fire Emblem Engage, which will launch on January 20.
The next game in the series takes you to the battlefield and summons Symbols – including Marth, Celica, and other heroes from previous titles – who live in special Iconic Rings. By wearing these rings, you can borrow the powers of these famous faces, increase your stats, or grant access to even more powerful abilities. We’re sure that Fire Emblem Three Houses fans will eagerly await this.
