NFL Week 16 Weather Update: Possible snow, rain in forecast could affect fantasy start decisions
Weather usually plays a big part in fantasy football playoffs, but heading into Week 16, things are looking relatively stable. Some spots could see snow or light rain, but without strong winds and temperatures in the 20s at least, owners imagine there’s one less thing to worry about. However, we asked Meteorologist Kevin Roth of RotoGrinders to help us analyze the weather updates you need to know before making a decision to start.
Before we get into the Week 16 forecast, here’s a reminder that if you have any questions about sports weather or how the weather might affect play (and, potentially, play). your imagination, DFS and gambling decisions), don’t hesitate to contact RotoGrinders Meteorologist Kevin Roth on Twitter (@KevinRothWx) or check hourly NFL weather forecast on RotoGrinders. NFL Week 16 weather update
Forecasts are allowed for Kevin Roth at RotoGrinders
Browns @ Packers. With sub-freezing temperatures, winds around 10 mph, and even some potential snowfall, conditions for this game aren’t ideal, but they’re nothing to worry about. As long as the wind and snow predictions remain stable, start all players in this game as usual.
WEEK 16 USE DFS: DraftKings | FanDuel | Yahoo!
Bills @ Patriots. It almost seems silly to include this game here considering how mild the weather forecast is compared to the last time these teams played, but there is a chance of rain and wind near 10 mph. Again, that’s nothing to worry about, but if the forecast deteriorates, we could see another heavyweight match-plan, at least from New England.
WEEK 16 PPR RANKING:
Midfielder | Run back | Wide receiver | Tight ending | VND / ST | Kicker
Bears @ Seahawks. We may have some snow for this game, but it won’t be too thick or heavy for either team. (Update: Winds are now predicted to be between 10-15 mph, creating potential problems for at least the kickers.)
Crows @ Bengals. It’s becoming more and more likely that this game gets a late shower, but overall, there’s no reason to worry about your Bengals or Ravens players.
WEEK 16 STANDARD RATINGS:
Midfielder | Run back | Wide receiver | Tight ending | VND / ST | Kicker
Steelers @ Chiefs. Winds will range from 10-12 mph and the chance of showers is minimal. There’s nothing to worry about for now, but keep a close eye on this matchup closer to the start.
