The call for people to open their doors to Ukrainian refugees also became the front line of the Sunday People’s Daily. This time it comes from Charlie Rowley, a survivor of the Salisbury Novichok attack suspected to have been carried out by Russian agents. The newspaper reported that Mr Rowley, whose comrade was killed in the Wiltshire attack, was urging people to greet those fleeing the fighting. “We cannot turn a blind eye to desperate people,” he told the newspaper.
