Yorkshire’s greater reliance on high-carbon industries resulted in a workforce with CO2 concentrations per employee almost twice that of the best performing area by that metric, London.

The focus should not be on just the number of jobs at risk, but where they are concentrated, both in terms of industry and community. ”

“Green work must not become elite work,” he added. “With targeted policies, investment and training, and partnerships between government, business and education providers, a green future can be a future of work for everyone. ”
