While most car journalists are sent to every corner of the world to test and drive the latest cars, the remaining 95% of our work is describe the latest and greatest cars, from the photos. Can you imagine, something like a car, some of the best details are seen firsthand, which brings us to the LA Auto Show.

While the show is a bit lackluster compared to previous years’ shows (and its major auto show partners in Detroit and New York), auto shows have always been a great way to capture the sights, sounds and textures of cars, all in one place. Here are a few that leave a lasting impression.

Ford Mustang 2024

Blue Oval showcases its hottest products like Maverick, Bronco, F-150 Lightning EV and new launches Ford Mustang 2024. Most of us can agree that the new version of the pony looks great — the details put into this car really bring them together. Look at this shoulder line. And the wrinkles over there. If you didn’t know you were looking at a new Mustang convertible, you would probably think it was a Chevy Camaro. The similarities were noticeable in the photos, but when viewed directly, it was quite obvious. Fortunately, it doesn’t affect the overall design at all.

Ioniq 6 EV of Hyundai

Hyundai had a pretty big LA Auto Show media day with the introduction of the second Ioniq EV: ioniq 6. We at Jalopnik were disappointed by the Ioniq 5and 6 will definitely attract a lot of buyers. Just like 5, 6 also incorporates some beautiful notes into the design.

For example, the unique combination of LED DRLs from Hyundai. The Ioniq 6 features a “Parametric Pixel” amber LED, an attractively patterned addition first introduced on the 5.

The Ioniq 6’s interior ambient lighting is also fun and innovative, with 64 colors and more than 4,000 combinations. synchronized with the vehicle speed. The faster you go, the brighter the lights inside.

Maybe it’s just me, but this Honda Pilot looks like a little Toyota 4Runner in column C.

New Toyota Prius

I don’t think anyone expected Toyota to change the game like it did with the 2023 Prius. See it firsthand — the most striking part of the design is actually in the rear of the car. The way the side folds combine with the light bar at the back looks great. (These are words I never thought I would say about any Prius.) The design is almost snappy. I find myself almost thanking the designers for creating a Prius that I really want to buy. It has matured, or matured from the fuel-hungry equipment of previous years. Now if we could get designers to make every hybrid look as appealing as this.
