based in UK Morgan The engine is spraying a stream color into the Super 3 range. It dusts off the mood board that inspired the designers when they drew the quirky three-wheeler launching in 2022 and used it to create nine limited edition watches grouped under the Origins brand.
The collection has no overarching theme: Morgan designers drew inspiration from a variety of sources, including the jet age, the pop art movement, science fiction, American highway cruisers, speed-record-setting tank-belly racers, and 1980s technology. Combining them all into one car would create a relatively incoherent design, so each limited-edition Super 3 focuses on a theme.
Each has its own name: Bluebird, Boulevard Cruiser, Pickersleigh Speedshop, Space Race, Warp Speed, Scramble the Jets, Charlie Mike, Fast Forward and Whoosh Bang Pop.
The Bluebird was inspired by the turbine-powered Bluebird-Proteus CN7 piloted by Donald Campbell, which set the land speed record in 1964. It had the same blue paint as the CN7 and a cabin with a machined aluminum dashboard.
The Boulevard Cruiser pays homage to 1950s American cars with its Frozen Berry paint job, bright exterior trim and Ivory Typhoon leather seats. Pickersleigh Speedshop represents Morgan’s tank racing style with its hand-painted bright red and metallic silver paint job. Space Race, Warp Speed and Scramble the Jets explore the skies: they put a modern spin on the jets and rockets that were considered ultra-futuristic in the 1950s, and we think each paint job fits the Super 3 perfectly. Back on the ground: Charlie Mike has a military-inspired design.
That leaves us with the Fast Forward and Whoosh Bang Pop, two variants that draw inspiration from non-vehicle sources. Finished in white with orange and red graphics, the first variant is a tribute to the “Japan-led gaming and technology revolution of the 1980s,” according to Morgan. The second variant features comic-book-like graphics in honor of the pop art movement that emerged in the 1950s.
Now on sale, the Morgan Super 3 Origins has a base price of $59,494 before sales tax and destination. However, the company notes that prices may vary by model “due to the complex nature of the collection.” Buyers can also add a number of options for an additional fee.
