Mom and Dad panicked when the dog fell on the baby in the yard, then they saw the baby’s legs
In their Tennessee home, Bryan and Alicia Holloway often let their 18-month-old son, Bryson, play with the family dog in the yard. The Holloways family make sure their pup is safe with Shiloh, their bright Australian Shepherd puppy.

One day, when his parents spotted Shiloh lunging at Bryson while playing in the yard, they worried. For a second, the Hollows doubted Shiloh’s intentions. But then they noticed a giant Copperhead snake slithering over their son’s leg! Shiloh didn’t seem to care about her own health and lunged at the snake.

Shiloh quickly used her body to protect her brother from the snake, then slithered down the yard. The snake escaped from the yard but the dog became shaken and fell to the ground. Parents understand that their brave dog has been bitten by a venomous snake. They rushed Shiloh to the hospital, where he was given the appropriate antibiotics that saved his life.

Shiloh was not injured in the attack, but he was still affected by the incident. Shiloh suffered from severe swelling and pain for several weeks, but he is fine now. The family is grateful to Shiloh for putting themselves in danger to save their boy. They consider themselves lucky to have such a devoted and brave friend in their family.
