Today’s post is one of the hardest we’ve ever written: we lost our sweet Tiki. A few weeks ago, she was diagnosed with lymphoma and is being treated. Unfortunately, the cancer had metastasized and she went downhill very quickly by Thanksgiving. On Monday we had to say goodbye.
Tiki’s adoption was the beginning of DogTipper and over the years she has taught us many things.
Although found abandoned overnight at the gate of the shelter, Tiki always looks for the best in everyone.
She has never met a stranger and enjoys meeting friends, meeting new people, and visiting nursing home people when we visit our loved ones.
Tiki’s outgoing nature also helped our shy Irie bloom…and four years ago we lost IrieTiki’s fun-loving personality helped teach our shy Barli that the world is a fun place to explore.
We’re going to unplug for a few days and help Barli, who until last night had never spent the night in our house without his Tiki. And, for ourselves, we’ll take a moment to catch our breath as we move forward and remember the girl who not only changed our careers but changed our lives.
