Microsoft Gaming CEO and Xbox head Phil Spencer recently mentioned he wants to bring Activision’s call of duty franchise for platforms like Nintendo Switch after the Activision Blizzard merger is complete.

Well, today Phil shared some absolutely big news – reveals how Microsoft has entered into a “10-year commitment” to bring the biggest first-person shooter franchise to the Nintendo platform. Driving this is Microsoft’s commitment to bring games to more people globally. Here is his tweet:

“Microsoft has signed a 10-year commitment to bring Call of Duty to @Nintendo following the merger of Microsoft and Activision Blizzard King. Microsoft is committed to helping bring more games to more people – the way they choose to play.” @ATVI_AB

in one second postPhil mentioned that Microsoft will also commit to continuing Valve’s Call of Duty service on Steam:

“I’m also pleased to confirm that Microsoft is committed to continuing to deliver Call of Duty on @Steam and also to Xbox once we have completed our merger with Activision Blizzard King. @ATVI_AB @ValveSoftware”

This latest development follows yesterday’s news that Microsoft has offered Sony a 10-year contract to continue the Call of Duty franchise on PlayStation. You can learn more about this on our sister site, Pure Xbox. Microsoft Vice President and President Brad Smith also mentioned how The same offer is still available for Sony and PlayStation:

“Our acquisition will bring Call of Duty to more gamers and more platforms than ever before. That’s good for the competition and good for consumers. Thanks @Nintendo. Any day @Sony wants to sit down and talk, we’ll be happy to talk.” out another 10-year deal for PlayStation.”

As previously noted, the last appearance of Call of Duty on the Nintendo platform was during the Wii U generation with the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops II 2012 and Call of the ghost quest in 2013.
