Michelle Yeoh returns as Emperor Philippa Georgiou in the new ‘Star Trek’ movie

After winning the Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in “Everything Everywhere All At Once” last month, Michelle Yeoh is preparing to return to the Star Trek universe to reprise her role as the Queen. Philippa Georgiou in the new movie “Star Trek: Section 31”.

Yeoh was first introduced as a character in 2017, when the series won an Emmy “Star Travel: Exploration” The TV series premieres on Paramount+.

Paramount+ and CBS Studios announced the news on Tuesday. Yeoh will also serve as executive producer for the project.

“Section 31” will introduce Yeoh’s character as she joins a secret division of Starfleet and is “assigned to protect the United Planets Federation and confront her past sins, ” according to an official summary.

“Star Trek: Part 31” will begin production later this year.
