As of November 2021, critics have appreciated Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater 3D for Nintendo 3DS is not available for download on eShop after Konami removed it, along with many other digital titles, from sale to license renewal.
Now, in a post celebrating the 35th anniversary of the original Metal gears on MSX2, Konami has said that it is preparing to resume selling suspended games.
Fully translated, the post reads:
The “METAL GEAR” series released on July 13, 1987 celebrates its 35th anniversary today.
We are preparing to resume sales of suspended titles. “
Of course, this suggests Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater 3D is likely to return to the eShop in the near future, which is great news if you’re thinking of picking it up, as Retail copies of the game have skyrocketed in price after the digital hiatus.
Suppose, I think eShop will close for good in March 2023, however, there’s a chance, however small, that Konami might not mind Snake Eater at all. Hopefully, it will just be a case of flipping the switch and it will be back online, in which case we advise you all to download it ASAP.
