Mercedes-AMG One production car launched June 1

The Mercedes-AMG One finally ready to hit the public road.

After being announced in 2017 and delayed several times, one – the V6 hybrid powertrain package taken from the enthralling 2015 Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One team – will debut on June 1.

The Project One The concept before the production car was equipped with a 1.6-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. Combined with three electric motors, the powertrain generates more than 746kW (1000hp).

All that whining will be put on the road via an eight-speed automatic transmission and the car will go 25km on pure electronic power… unlike Lewis Hamilton’s weekend car.

It will also have a lower red border than the Lewis racer to make the engine run reliably on semi-public gasoline. An earlier teaser suggests the engine will cut out at 9000rpm, instead of 11,000rpm like the F1 car.

With an active rear spoiler, center-mounted shark fin and hood, a large rear diffuser and a pop-up front fender, the One is expected to have a top speed of over 350km/h and time less than 0-200km/h more than 6.0 seconds.

Only 275 pieces will be produced and all of them have been sold out despite the $2.72 million (US$3.9 million) price tag. Eight cars will go to Australia and New Zealand.

When it finally reaches the public roads, Who will confront Aston Martin Valkyrie. Where the AMG One is inspired by F1, the Valkyrie is closer to a Le Mans driver.

It is provided by a 6.5 liter naturally aspirated V12 engine was developed by Cosworth in conjunction with the hybrid acceleration system developed by Integral Powertrain Ltd and Rimac.

It has a combined maximum power of 865kW power and 900Nm torque, along with 11,100 rpm.
