Mayweather reveals the only problem left for McGregor rematch

Five years ago, weightlifting legend Floyd Mayweather faced off against UFC icon Conor McGregor in a historic match in which boxing met MMA.

Now, it looks like two of the famous sportsmen will meet again in 2023, but it has yet to be decided whether it will be an exhibition or a professional match. That’s hardly a trivial matter, considering both the feud between the pair and Mayweather’s history boasting of his undefeated record.

Billed as ‘The Money Wars’, the match was originally estimated to have generated around $600 million in revenue (ESPN), more than any other pay-per-view event in the sport’s history. With both boxers renowned for their respective love of money and having previously fought for ‘The Money Belt’, it’s no secret Mayweather’s motives are in this fight.

While comparing, The Irishman McGregor may have another goalas he sought to overcome the defeat he suffered in his professional boxing debut against Mayweather 50-0.

The two-weight UFC champion often talks about his desire to return to the boxing arena, especially after surviving ten rounds against one of the all-time greats. Furthermore, a broken leg in his final fight with Dustin Poirier may be enough to convince McGregor to switch to boxing and away from the brutal kicks of mixed martial arts.
