Boston – Like a whirlwind of bombs with the power of a hurricane rush New England, Matt Judon is sharing an important reminder: Dogs belong inside. In one new PETA video and a companion 30 second advertisement blitz to broadcasters in Boston and other cities along the East Coast, Patriots support staff performed a few humorous tries in the local dialect — with some nods to Dunkin, the trainer. his staff, Bill Belichick and all things Boston — before issuing a sobering warning: “Winter in New England is no joke. They can be deadly to dogs left outdoors in sub-freezing temperatures.”
“My dogs are part of my family, and I would never leave my family outside,” continued Judon. “So bring your dogs indoors and show them the love and respect they show you.”
Cold weather and impending meteor-like winter storms lead to many people died, were injured and were saved each year. (And most incidents aren’t even reported.) Dogs left outdoors are at risk of frostbite, exposure, and dehydration when the water source freezes. Some will die, and all of them suffer. It is possible to see just a glimpse of some of the dogs that PETA field workers have seen in pain from the cold here. (Broadcast-quality footage is available upon request.)
Judon is part of a long list of athletes — including teammate Dont’a Hightower, former Patriots defender Cam Newton, Tyrann Mathieu, Jarvis Landry, Devin Funchess, Chris Harris Jr. and Ronnie Stanley — who have partnered with PETA to promote animal kindness.
PETA — in part, their motto states that “animals are not ours to abuse in any way” — advocates speciesism, a human supremacist worldview . For more information, please visit PETA’s blog or follow the group on Twitter, Facebookor Instagram.
